WHY DOES AADA HAVE SECURITY?
Multimedia Designs, LLC
Aside from keeping content limited to members, AADA has security to protect you by using passwords and answering dumb math questions! There is a actual technical reason, however for you, it can be annoying.
Every site seems to have a different set of rules that requires you to remember. They cause you to want to scream “why can’t they just make this simple and easy!” The answer is…it could, but it would also be just as easy for those individuals who do not have honesty in mind to gain access to your information. Information is power.
WHY CAN’T THEY MAKE THIS SIMPLE AND EASY!
Part of the password maze is actually done to protect you, the user of the site. IT managers know that terrorism is not just limited to buildings, airplanes, guns and bombs, but the internet as well. Their weapon of choice is private information. IT managers and web developers, do not want your account to be used in a way that can hurt others, so they place a heavy set of rules on logging in and verification.
YOU HATE THIS…. WE ALL DO.
It is nothing that you have done wrong. It more about what Web developers know about what the online-terrorists can do. So every effort it made to protect you, primarily through the use of passwords.
Passwords allows you access a site “through a piece of technology called a firewall. A firewall is nothing more than a strong technological half-half. It slows what appears to be dangerous to the site and to you personally. Sometimes, wrongly it misinterprets. It does not mean to, it just does not recognize what it is seeing.
When the firewall sees that you are imputing, or someone else, under your name, is imputing a invalid password repeatedly, it says STOP. Full on halt. This is not right! Then it promptly locks out whoever is trying to get in. The barn gate is closed, but only for a period of time. It is trying to prevent a problem. Prevent someone from stealing your information, like an email address. Your personal email address is power, a whip from a dressage perspective. Hundreds of sites base their access on them because they are unique. Knowing them, gives them one more tool including sending out more emails, under your name, to your friends. This is what is known as spam.
WHAT IS THIS SPAM? (No meaning other than bad canned meat)
Why is unknown and unwanted email so dangerous? Because these types of email messages contains small pieces of software that it installs on your computer without you knowing. It then monitors everything you type on your computer, in your browsers and illegitimate emails. It is looking for something to access, like your bank passwords, credit card numbers, birth dates, social security numbers and other email addresses. Anything at all that can help steal your money without you even knowing about it.
It all starts with your email address, that when received by your friends, family and associates, think the mail is from YOU, when in reality it is a con. This is why websites are so obsessed with security and verification. The thieves hide behind computer screen and sleep while their software probes the web looking for a site that is not secure.
What is wonderful technology, the ability to share experiences, knowledge, connect with others, same interest and learn new things, is using the same technology to prey on the unprepared. In AADA, as best as can be done, that preparation is in place. All to protect you.
Enjoy the site.
